Policy Regarding Application Deadlines for Returning Students 2015-2016 Academic Year
The office of Student Financial Aid’s published deadlines for submission of the 2015-2016 PROFILE and 2015-2016 FAFSA is March 1, 2015. The deadline for returning students’ and their parents’ 2014 Federal Income Tax Returns and W-2 forms to be received by the College Board IDOC service is April 1, 2015. Scholarships and Grant funds may be limited after this deadline. As a result, students who complete their financial aid application after these published deadlines may find that their financial aid award is weighted more heavily toward need-based loans than need-based scholarships.
If a returning student is unable to submit the parents’ 2014 Federal Income Tax Return and W-2 forms as a result of unusual and extraordinary circumstances beyond their control, the student or parent should notify the Student Financial Aid office, in writing, of these circumstances. This notification will be placed in the student’s file, and the financial aid administrator will be notified of the family’s circumstances. Where there are unusual and extraordinary circumstances preventing the timely completion of the financial aid application, every effort will be made, based on the availability of funds, to provide need-based scholarship funding consistent with funding provided in previous years.
