Financial Aid & Student Athletes
The Office of Student Financial Aid is proud to support our Demon Deacons through their need-based financial aid processes. Student athletes may apply for need-based financial aid during their academic enrollment at Wake Forest University.
Student athletes may also receive athletic scholarship funding annually, based on the recommendation of their head coach. All information regarding athletic scholarship funding is provided by the Athletics Department.
The Office of Student Financial Aid does not:
- Determine what amount of athletic scholarship funding is awarded.
- Determine when the athletics department notifies the Office of Student Financial Aid of athletic scholarship awards.
- Provide or collect Athletic Grant and Aid Agreements.
Prospective Student Athletes
Prospective students should be in contact with the Office of Admissions and Athletics Departments to inquire about their status of the admission. Families who want a better understanding of what their financial obligations may be prior to enrollment, can use the Net Price Calculator for an estimate.
Student athletes must complete the admission application process before they can inquire about the status of their financial aid. Prior to acceptance into Wake Forest University, student athletes should reach out to the Office of Admissions to inquire about the status of their admission application.
The Office of Student Financial Aid will not have any information regarding financial aid until the admissions process has been completed.
Net Price Calculator
Families can know what their estimated need based financial aid eligibility & out – of pocket costs are, by completing the Net Price Calculator.

Inaccurate Financial Data
- The accuracy of the estimate net price relies on the data provided. The absence of or incorrect data such as asset information, business income, untaxed income etc., will result in a difference in the actual need based eligibility when it is completed.
Divorced or Single Parent Families
- Divorced or Single Parent families, are not advised to use the Net Price Calculator, as additional financial information may required. Contact the Office of Financial Aid if you have further questions.
Deadline For Use

Summer Session Financial aid
Any student enrolled in summer school may receive federal financial aid (including PELL) only in cases where they are enrolled half-time and if they are eligible based on the fall and spring federal aid received.
Class schedule
- Your athletic and need-based funding will be based on the number of hours you are enrolled in.
- Changing your schedule will affect your funding (i.e. dropping and/or adding a class) as well as the timing of when you expected to receive a refund associated with your athletic and need based aid.
- If you reduce your hours after your federal and/or athletic aid has already posted to your account, you will owe money. Any balance not paid in the summer will be transferred to the following period of enrollment and must be paid before you can register.
